of the monumental book about windmills by the
windmill constructor Johannes van Zyl, who lived
in Lexmond, South Holland, in the municipality
Zederik. The copper plates of double-page size
(55 73 cm, and accordingly the double page almost
92 64 cm) by J. Schenk display various types of
windmills, their architecture and details of their
construction. The frontispiece shows an illustration
which allegorises the construction of windmills
and an engraved poem which praises the inventor
of the saw mill, Cornelis van Uytgeest. Very well
preserved.
