Catalogus van het uitmuntend kabinet schilderyen, tekeningen, prenten, beelden, enz. Door geheel Europa beroemd, en in vele jaaren byeenverzameld door den heere Gerret Braamcamp. 't Welk verkogt zal worden te Amsterdam, op Woensdag den 31. july 1771. en volgende dagen in het groot Logement Het Wapen van Amsterdam. Amsterdam, J. Smit, H.W. Dronsberg, A. Hupkes, en Yntema en Tieboel, 1771, full calf, gold ruled borders, gold tooled spine with 5 raised bands, red morocco label with gilt title, 226 pp., with auction results and buyers name in old hand on blank inter pages, 20 13,5 cm (first free endpaper lacking?) Very fine copy. Gerrit Braamcamp (18 November 1699?17 June 1771) was a successful distiller, timber merchant and art collector from the Netherlands. Over thirty years he created a major collection of Dutch and Flemish art (i.a Rembrandt, Gerard Dou, Breugel, Rubens, Jan Steen) totally around 380 works, though
only a few of these are now in Dutch museums. Catharina the Great of Russia bought some masterpieces of Rembrandt and Breugel at this auction. Unfortunately these paintings got lost in a shipwreck during their shipping to Russia.
